Craft stores and gift shops in Queensland are selling Christmas decorations and other Christmas goods, as the Christmas period approaches.
A craft store on Ballybunion Road in the city said Christmas decorations had been made for the public and were sold in the gift shop.
It said the Christmas decorations were being sold at a price of $1,200 a piece, which was higher than other Christmas decorations, such as jewellery and holiday decorations.
“We’ve seen the demand and we’ve had a little bit of trouble selling these things so we’re trying to get them out there,” said the owner, who did not want to be named.
The Christmas market in Brisbane is one of the largest in the state.
In Victoria, Christmas celebrations are organised at public markets and markets in some towns.
Christmas in Queensland is typically held on the first Monday of December and people will be allowed into the town of Port Phillip on the second Monday of November, before heading to the coast to celebrate the start of Christmas celebrations at Port Phillip Beach.
